On This Day

On October 8, 1956, New York Yankees’ Don Larsen pitches the only World Series perfect game in Major League Baseball (MLB) history. It was a 2-0 Game 5 win over the Brooklyn Dodgers. The Yankees went on to win the World Series in seven games. Larsen is still the only pitcher to throw a perfect game in a World Series to date.
