Imane Khelif, Olympic gold medal winner in women’s boxing has filed a criminal complaint over alleged “acts of aggravated cyber harassment.” Along with the cyber harassment based on gender charge, public insults based on gender and public incitement to discrimination are also being considered in the suit. Both Elon Musk and J.K. Rowling have been named in the suit, with an investigation as to if Donald Trump and others will be named also.
Khelif’s gender has been under scrutiny after being disqualified in the 2023 Boxing World Championships due to failing a gender eligibility test from the International Boxing Association (IBA) when XY chromosomes showed up.
Khelif said after the victory, “I am qualified to take part in this competition. I’m a woman like any other woman. I was born a woman, I have lived as a woman, I competed a woman, there’s no doubt about that… [The detractors] are enemies of success, that is what I call them. And that also gives my success a special taste because of these attacks.”
