Los Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani was expected to land one of the most lucrative contracts in baseball history as a pending free agent this off-season. Will that change with his announcement that he had elbow surgery and will only be able to hit in 2024 and wont be able to pitch until 2025? A short term deal for a DH for 2 years and a rehabbing pitcher in the second year could be an option that could lead to opening up the bidding for more teams. Or will the big dogs in the running for his services take the chance and risk in the short term of just being a hitter hoping in the middle and back end of a long term deal that he'll be available to be pitching. Ohtani was batting .304 on the year before he went out. We will see what's to come.
