NFL Hands Down Suspensions

The NFL has handed down several suspensions for the regular season as pre-season gets ready to get underway.

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is suspended for the first 3 games of the season for his role in a fight outside a Las Vegas night club in 2022. He reached a plea agreement in July and no longer faces a felony charge for the incident before the February 2022 Pro Bowl. The 2017 Offensive Rookie of the Year said "I was completely wrong. I embarrassed the Saints, I embarrassed my family and my mother. I embarrassed myself, embarrassed the city, and the shield, obviously, embarrassed the NFL".

Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Charles Omenihu is suspended for the first 6 games of the season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy following an alleged domestic violence incident in January. He was playing for the San Francisco 49'ers at the time when police were called to his San Jose home for a report of domestic violence. A women who was identified as his girlfriend told police he pushed her down. She had no visible injuries and declined medical attention.
