On Tuesday, Netflix announced a more than $5 billion rights deal that would make it the exclusive home of World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) Raw starting January 2025.
The deal is for 10 years and will put Raw on Netflix's streaming service in the U.S., Canada, Britain and Latin America. It also contains an option to extend the deal for another 10 years and an opt-out clause after 5 years.
Netflix will have exclusive rights to stream all WWE shows and specials, including SmackDown and pay-per-views like WrestleMania and other monthly live events outside of the U.S..
As Netflix continues looking to develop its streaming of live events, the Raw deal marks their first long-term live events contract that appeals to a loyal, multi-generational base of fans.
