Nearly Impossible for Trump to Get a Fair Trial in D.C.

According to Spencer Kimball, Emerson College Polling’s executive director, says “Perception of Trump’s guilt varies by gender: 75% of women would vote to find Trump guilty compared to 54% of men.”

The poll was conducted from August 29 through September 2, and reported results yesterday that even without hearing a lick of evidence, 64% of the residents are saying they’d find Trump guilty. Only 8% would find him innocent, and 28% were unsure. Approximately 70% of Democrats also believe Trump is guilty and more than 50% of Independents felt the same. Republicans were split almost evenly ranging from about 36% between guilty, 34% not guilty and 30% undecided.

Of the 500 respondents to the Emerson College Poll, 57% said Trump would get a guilty verdict, 10% forecast a not guilty verdict and 33% were unsure. D.C. residents were also split 55%-45% on if they’d serve on the jury for Trump’s case. Even with having indictments in four different criminal cases, it hasn’t stopped Trump’s lead in the 2024 Republican presidential primary.
