Former advisor to President Donald Trump's White House, Peter Navarro was sentenced to four months in prison on Thursday. He was charged with ignoring a congressional subpoena related to the January 6th committee's investigation.
Navarro's legal team argued that prosecutors couldn't show he willfully refused to comply with the congressional subpoena. He believed President Trump had called for executive privilege, so he didn't have to comply.
"When I received that congressional subpoena... I had an honest belief that the privilege had been invoked," Navarro told the judge during the hearing.
Leftist Judge Amit Mehta handed down the sentence and has yet to determine if Navarro will be incarcerated while he appeals his sentence.
Many Democrats have refused to testify before Congress. Not a single one has been charged with anything.
The crooked Biden regime continues to weaponize the Justice System and go after his political opponents. They want as many of Trump's allies and those who have worked for him to suffer. The end goal is to have Trump handcuffed and perp-walked, but for now, going after anyone associated with him will do.
