San Diego Padres general manager A.J. Preller announced that they will be without right-handed starter Joe Musgrove for the rest of the postseason.
Musgrove will be undergoing Tommy John surgery to repair the damaged ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. He will most likely miss most, if not all of next season as well.
During Wednesday's Game 2 start of the wild card series versus the Atlanta Braves, Musgrove left after just 3 2/3 innings due to right elbow tightness. An MRI done on Thursday revealed the damage.
