MTV’s 2023 VMA Winners

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards were held last night at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Nicki Minaj hosted for the second year in a row. Taylor Swift walked away with the most prestigious award of the night; Video of the Year for “Anti- Hero,” Swift has won this award for the second consecutive year. She is the first artist in history to ever win this award two years in a row.


Swift went on to win 8 other awards including, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Video (Presented by all members of *NSYNC), Show of the Summer, Album of the Year (Midnights), Best Direction (which she directed), Best Cinematography (Cinematography by Rina Yang), and Best Visual Effects (Visual Effects by Carbon). The only awards she didn’t win that she was nominated for were Best Editing and Song of the Summer. The Video Vanguard Award went to Shakira and the Global Icon Award went to Diddy, (Puff Daddy/Sean Combs).
