Here's the happenings in Major League Baseball...
- Oakland Athletics acquired right-hander Ross Stipling and $3.25 million cash from the San Francisco Giants for minor league outfielder Jonah Cox.
- Atlanta Braves have signed former closer Ken Giles to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
- New York Mets have signed right-handed reliever Shintaro Fujinami to a 1 year, $3.35 million contract. The deal also includes $850,000 in incentives.
- Boston Red Sox announced Theo Epstein is returning to the team as a senior advisor and part owner of Fenway Sports Group.
- New York Yankees have signed outfielder Greg Allen to a minor league contract. He will earn $1.1 million if he makes the big league roster plus another potential $400,000 in performance bonuses.
- Detroit Tigers have signed prospect Colt Keith to a 6 year, $28.6 million contract extension. The deal also has club options for 2030, 2031, and 2032. It also has a $2 million signing bonus. Keith has yet to appear in a major league game.
- Oakland A's have signed left-handed starter Alex Wood. Details have not been released.
- Cleveland Guardians have signed right-handed starter Carlos Carrasco to a minor league contract. If he makes the big league roster he will receive a $2 million contract.
