MLB Update

Here is your update for the happenings in Major League Baseball..


- Atlanta Braves have acquired left-handed starter Chris Sale and cash considerations from the Boston Red Sox for infielder Vaughn Grissom. The Red Sox are sending $17 million to Atlanta to cover part of Sale's $27.5 million he's due in 2024. 


- Boston Red Sox have signed right-handed starter Lucas Giolito to a 2 year, $38.5 million contract. The deal has an opt-out clause after the first year, and a conditional option (based on innings pitched) for 2026.


- Cincinnati Reds have signed right-handed starter Frankie Montas to a 1 year,  $16 million contract. The deal includes performance bonuses. 


- Chicago White Sox have signed right-handed starter Chris Flexen to a 1 year,  $1.75 million contract with $1 million in performance bonuses. 


- Chicago White Sox have signed left-handed reliever Tim Hill to a 1 year,  $1.8 million contract. 


- Toronto Blue Jays have signed utility player Isiah Kiner-Falefa (IKF) to a 2 year,  $15 million contract. 


- Toronto Blue Jays have signed outfielder Kevin Kiermaier to a 1 year,  $10.5 million contract. 


*** Former Gold Glove shortstop Andrelton Simmons,  announced he is retiring after 11 seasons
