The MLB celebrates its 22nd annual Roberto Clemente Day on Friday, September 15th. Clemente, one of baseball's greats and humanitarian died in a plane crash at the age of 38 on New Year's Eve 1972 while delivering emergency aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973 becoming the 1st Latin American player to enter Cooperstown.
