MLB Announce Cy Young Award Winners

Major League Baseball has announced the winners of this year's Cy Young Award for the American and National League.

Here are your winners..

American League..

Gerrit Cole - New York Yankees - 15-4, 2.63, 222K's, 209 innings.

Cole was the unanimous pick for his first Cy Young Award. He was runner up in 2019 and 2021.

"I take a lot of pride in going out there and representing the Yankees organization... to be joining [other Yankees Cy Young winners] is part of a great dream that I had as a kid," Cole said after winning his first Cy Young Award.


National League..

Blake Snell - San Diego Padres - 14-9, 2.25, 234K's, 180 innings.

Snell had a career high in strikeouts and became the only pitcher in MLB history to win the award after starting the season five or more games under .500 during the season (1-6).

He is just the seventh pitcher in MLB history to win the Cy Young Award in both leagues (Tampa Bay Rays 2018) joining Gaylord Perry, Pedro Martinez, Randy Johnson, Roger Clemens, Roy Halladay and Max Scherzer.

"It means the work I,m putting in is paying off, it's working, and I've got to keep chasing it," Snell said after winning the award.
