Missouri’s Attorney General Andrew Bailey is calling for a 15-year-old girl to be tried as adult after brutally beating another teen, who is fighting for her life in a hospital.
The altercation broke out Friday afternoon near Hazelwood High School, and videos of the incident began circulating showing one girl taking the other girl down to the ground repeatedly punching her in her face and head, then got on top of the victim and began smashing her head into the concrete multiple times. The video also showed what appeared to be the victim having a seizure.
St. Louis County Police Department said, “Responding officers located a juvenile female suffering a sever head injury. The victim was transported to an area hospital where she remains in critical condition.”
Bailey posted on X, “This evil and complete disregard for human life has no place in Missouri, or anywhere. I am praying for the victim. The criminal should be charged and tried as an adult. If the victim dies, that offense should rise to a homicide.”
The 15-year-old suspect is charged with first-degree felony assault and is being held in the St. Louis County Family Court. There will be a pre-trial conference for this case is set for April 1.
The St. Louis County Police Department is still investigating the incident.
