Menendez Convicted On All Counts

New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez was found guilty on all 16 counts of public corruption by a jury in his federal corruption trial.  


Menendez was accused of selling his office for bribes and assisting the foreign governments of Egypt and Qatar. Each count carries a potential sentence of up to twenty years. 


He was found guilty of conspiracy to commit bribery, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to commit extortion, and obstruction of justice. Menendez and his wife Nadine received payments in cash, gold bars, and a luxury vehicle for their work on behalf of longtime donor and associate Jose Uribe and the Egyptian government. Also, Menendez's wife Nadine ran the scheme to ensure military aid for Egypt along with Wael "Will" Hana, an Egyptian-American businessman.
