The suspect of four murders was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after an overnight manhunt ended on Sunday.
Mavis Christian Jr., 52, was found dead in his car after what is being called a domestic violence shooting spree, spread across 3 locations, killing 3 women and a 13-year-old girl, and leaving another 15-year-old girl critically wounded, Memphis Police Department said.
Memphis police officers responded to the first shooting at 9:22 p.m. Saturday in one location. Investigators were able to determine the connection with the shootings that took place in two other locations.
Christian’s criminal record went back to 1996 with an aggravated assault charge and in 2018 with charges of domestic violence, aggravated assault, theft and vandalism.
