McDavid Wins Conn Smythe Award

Despite losing the series, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid was voted the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as MVP of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

McDavid had 42 points in 25 games throughout the playoffs. He fell just five points short of Wayne Gretzky's record for the most points all time in a single postseason.

He broke the Great One's record of most assists in a single postseason when he reached an incredible 34 assists during these playoffs.

McDavid also became just the third player in NHL postseason history to record at least 40 points in one postseason, joining Gretzky (1985, 1988, 1993) and Mario Lemieux (1991).
