Major League Baseball (MLB) has announced it has given San Diego Padres infielder Tucupita Marcano a lifetime ban for violating the league's gambling policy.
MLB found that Marcano placed 387 bets on baseball, including 231 MLB related wagers through a legal sportsbook between 2022-2023. He also made 25 bets on the Pittsburgh Pirates last year while he was a member of the team.
Marcano bet $150,000 on baseball, with $87,319 of that on MLB related wagers, the league said.
