Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred announced on Thursday that he will be retiring at the end of his current contract. The 5 year deal ends in January 2029.
Manfred has been commissioner since 2015 after he was picked to replace Bud Selig. He was re-elected last July for his current contract.
"You can only have so much fun in one lifetime. I have been open with them (the owners) about the fact that this is going to be my last term," Manfred said.
