Malibu Wildfire Update

The Franklin Fire in Malibu, California has burned through 4,037 acres since it first went ablaze on the night of December 9th. Firefighters have contained 30% of the fire so far. 


Approximately 1,600 residents are still under an evacuation order, as roughly 3,700 residents were able to return to their homes. Some roads have been reopened as well. 


Red flag warnings have been lifted as Santa Ana winds have calmed down along with increased humidity and rain chances has come into the area, helping over 1,500 firefighters.


Twelve structures have been destroyed and 11 have been damaged. No injuries or fatalities have been reported.
