The “Franklin Fire” in Malibu, California is still growing, but is reported to have 7% containment. The Red Flag Warning and evacuation orders are still currently in effect.
The fire has grown to 3,983 acres since it began about 11 p.m. on December 9. Seven structures have been destroyed and eight have been damaged. There are about 40,000 customers without power in the area.
More than 1,500 firefighters are assigned to this fire. Fix wing aircrafts/water scoopers are able to set up a ring of retardant around perimeters of the fire. Night vision helicopters have also been working throughout the nights dropping water from above.
There are no injuries or casualties reported.
