Southern California is battling a fast moving, life threatening Mountain Fire in Camarillo, California in Ventura County, (north of Los Angeles) which began on Wednesday morning and forcing authorities to evacuate over 14,000.
Dry brush and grasses along with winds gusting over 80 mph are fueling the fire. It is believed to have started as a small brush fire, but the powerful winds are dangerously spreading the fire quickly.
The fire has already burned through more than 14,500 acres in only a matter of hours. There are over 70,000 without power and there are already roughly 50 homes destroyed.
Nearly 1,000 firefighters are trying to assist, but are having a difficult time due to downed power and gas lines, poor visibility due smoke conditions and gusty winds.
No deaths have been reported and the fire is still at 0% containment.
