Lactaid Milk Recall

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and HP Hood LLC has issued a voluntary recall of 5 different varieties of Lactaid milk due to potential almond presence in the products.


During routine maintenance, HP Hood (parent company of Lactaid) discovered there might be trace amounts of almond in the milk.


Almonds aren’t listed on the labels; therefore, the product can pose a life-threatening risk to anyone who has an almond allergy.


The products were shipped to 27 states including: Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.


The recalled product is packaged in 96-ounce plastic containers and varieties include Lactaid’s brand of: Whole Milk, 2% Milk, 1% Milk, Fat Free Milk and 2% Calcium Enriched Milk.


Customers who purchased the products can get a refund or exchange them at the store. With any questions or concerns, customers can contact HP Hood at 800-242-2423.


No illnesses or deaths have been reported.
