Knicks to File Protest After Botched Call

The New York Knicks are filing a protest with the NBA due to the controversial end to their 105-103 loss to the Houston Rockets on Monday night.

The call under protest came with .1 seconds left in the tied game.  The refs called Knicks star Jalen Brunson for a foul on Rockets guard Aaron Holiday while he attempted a 3 point shot. Holiday went on to make 2 of 3 from the free-throw line for the win.

After the game, Crew Chief Ed Malloy admitted that the foul on Brunson was erroneous and should not have resulted in Houston's game winning free throws.

"After seeing it during post-game review, the offensive player was able to return to a normal playing position on the floor. The contact which occurred after the release of the ball, therefore, is incidental and marginal to the shot attempt and should not have been called," Malloy said.

*** Teams have 48 hours following the conclusion of a game to file a protest..
