NBA’s Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. has found himself in trouble with the law again, this time the allegations are a lot more serious. Porter Jr. was arrested early Monday morning on charges of assault and strangulation against girlfriend Kysre Gondrezick, a former WNBA player. The two charges are both considered domestic violence felonies.
Porter Jr. brutally beat her so bad by continuing to punch her in her face, leaving a cut above her right eye and bruises on her face. It is also reported that he squeezed her neck so tight that she developed bruising, lost motion in her left arm, and had trouble breathing after the incident. Hospital tests showed Gondrezick also sustained fractured vertebrae in her neck.
Gondrezick made her way out into the hallway of the hotel, where security got involved and called the police. Mirah Curzer, assistant Manhattan district attorney, said Porter Jr.’s has a history of abusing Gondrezick. Curzer said there was another incident where Porter rammed his car into Gondrezik.
This is one of the worst domestic abuse cases sports has seen in recent memory and should leave Porter Jr. never picking up a basketball professionally again.
