The Kentucky Crime lab, along with Dr. William Ralston, Kentucky Chief Medical Examiner, confirm that the body they found last week was identified as 32-year-old Joseph Couch, the Kentucky highway shooter. Couch’s body was in an extreme state of decomposition, but the office was able do bone testing to conclude it was Couch.
Cause of death is consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot to his head.
Couch went on a shooting spree, shooting at 12 vehicles and wounding 5 people on Interstate 75 on September 7th. All five victims are expected to survive their wounds and no deaths were reported.
