Kash Patel has been confirmed as Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). After much controversy, the final Senate confirmation vote was 51-49 in favor for Patel.
Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Susan Collins (Maine), went against the majority party, but Mitch McConnell (Kentucky), who had voted no to several other of Trump’s picks voted in favor of Patel.
Patel posted on X, “My mission as Director is clear: let good cope be cops and rebuild trust in the FBI. Working alongside the dedicated men and women of the Bureau and our partners, we will rebuild an FBI the American people can be proud of. And to those who seek to harm Americans – consider this your warning. We will hunt you down in every corner of the planet.”
Patel, 44, is President Trump’s 19th confirmed Cabinet member.
