Former President Jimmy Carter passed away on Sunday at the age of 100 after more than a year of hospice care.
The 39th president died at his longtime home in Plains, Georgia eight months after the death of his wife Rosalynn. They were married for 77 years.
Carter will be best known for his humanitarian and charitable work.
The official state funeral is set for January 9th at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C..
