Jets Sign 1st Chinese Born Player

The Winnipeg Jets have signed 18 year old prospect Kevin He to a 3 year, entry level contract becoming the first Chinese born player to sign an NHL contract.

He, who has been playing for the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), and the captain for the Niagara IceDogs, ranks fourth in the league with 23 goals over 29 games this season.

In 2015, the New York Islanders drafted Andong Song in the sixth round of the NHL Draft becoming the first Chinese born player drafted, but he never signed a contract.
