Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi, 63 and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, 60 were found dead after their helicopter crashed in thick, foggy conditions on Monday. The crash happened in an isolated, mountainous terrain area in northwest Iran.
It took rescuers hours to reach the remote sight.
Iran announced there will be five days of mourning and the funeral will be held on Tuesday. Bad weather is thought to be the cause of the accident and no foul play is expected at this time.
