Indiana Fever’s Playoff Drought Ends

WNBA’s Indiana Fever has ended their playoff drought for the first time in 7 seasons. With a Chicago Sky loss to the Las Vegas Aces, and an Atlanta Dream loss to the Phoenix Mercury, the Fever was able to clinch a playoff spot for the first time since 2016.

Caitlin Clark, drafted as the 2024 No. 1 over all draft pick to the Fever plays along side with 2023 No. 1 pick Aliyah Boston, 2022 No. 2 pick NaLyssa Smith and 2018 No. 2 pick Kelsey Mitchell. The team has progressively been getting better and growing together as a core group.

Clark averages 18.7 points, 8.4 assists and 5.9 rebounds each game in her rookie season. She was the first rookie to rack up a triple-double in WNBA history and broke the rookie assist record. Clark is also on track to beat the single-season assist record.

The Fever is currently at No. 6 in the standings. Playoffs begin on September 22.
