Although there wasn’t a direct hit to the US, Hurricane Ernesto still took the lives of three people due to dangerous surf and rip currents.
Last week, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said, “life-threatening surf and rip currents conditions” are likely for the next few days. They also warned beachgoers to stay out of the water.
Sadly, two men drowned on Friday off Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and another swimmer was found unresponsive on Saturday in Surf City, North Carolina.
NHC still believes conditions are dangerous along the East Coast beaches of the US. and are warning the public of the possibly deadly currents.
