Hurricane Beryl’s Destruction Continues

As the category 4 storm Hurricane Beryl, swept across Jamaica, it leaves 2 more dead, taking the death toll to 9 and caused major power outages and destroyed hundreds of thousands of homes. Heavy rains fell for over 12 hours over the nation causing floods throughout the streets. Winds up to 130 mph ripped off roofs, downed trees, and power lines.


Beryl struck Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula including the resort towns of Tulum, Cancún and Cozumel as a category 2 storm with winds at 110 mph, is facing similar damages as Jamaica.


Beryl weakened to a tropical storm, but is forecasted to regain strength, possibly into hurricane strength as it travels over the warm Gulf of Mexico waters. It currently has Texas’ entire gulf coast in the projected path and can reach the state sometime between Sunday-Monday.
