Airports nationwide are experiencing major, post Christmas, delays and cancelations due to severe weather.
Severe weather made up of rain, snow, ice, dense fog and windy conditions are going across large areas of the Gulf Coast and affecting states including Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia,
Louisiana, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, New York and Texas to name a few.
Although several airports are facing delays and cancellations, the airports with the most issues are Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and New York City (JFK).
Texas’s Governor Greg Abbott activated a State of Emergency Response Resources on Thursday to prepare for the weather. Tornadoes damaged buildings in Houston and Louisiana.
So far, there are 2,801 delays and 91 cancellations. More could be expected as the day goes on.
