When the Today show’s co-host Hoda Kotb announced in September she was leaving her position, it left the question of who will fill her shoes. The answer is, Craig Melvin.
Melvin is a news anchor and co-host of Today’s 3rd hour, will now add co-anchoring with Savannah Guthrie for the 7 and 8 a.m. segments of Today beginning on January 13, 2025.
For almost 14 years, Melvin has worn many hats at NBC News including co-hosting The 3rd Hour of Today with Al Roker, Sheinelle Jones, and Dylan Dreyer, to covering breaking news, Olympic and Super Bowl games and presidential interviews.
Melvin said, “I am beyond excited and grateful … I’ve enjoyed just a lifetime of blessings and this is the latest in a long line of blessings.”
Kolb said that Melvin was “literally made for this job.” She added that he was the “right person for it” and that he “had all the things this job needs.
