Former President Bush’s Annual Warrior Bike Ride

Former President George W. Bush hosts his 10th annual Warrior Bike Ride for U.S. veterans. For 10 years now Bush has held the bike ride to honor those who have risked their lives to protect our country.

Led by Bush, the ride lasted nearly 3 hours on some of the toughest, up hill trails, which included rough terrain.

Bush said, “A person comes out of combat and deals with the danger and the darkness of death and sometimes it’s hard for them to get their feet back on the ground, and this is a way to do it because they’re riding with people who’ve been through similar circumstances…

My dream, of course, is every vet that is living in darkness can figure out how to come and

live in the light.”

The Bush Institute also has a program called Check-In where they reach out to vets having trouble, especially mental health issues and dealing with posttraumatic stress.
