Ford and Mazda have issued a recall for over 457,000 vehicles equipped with a Takata airbag. Ford and Mazda’s “Do Not Drive” warnings include several Lincoln and Mercury models as well, all ranging from 2003-2015.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) urges vehicle owners not to drive the vehicles until the defective airbags have been replaced and repairs are finished. NHTSA reported 27 people have been killed by the defective Takata airbag and they have injured at least 400 people.

Owners of any recalled vehicles should contact their dealership to schedule the free repair as soon as possible. Ford and Mazda are also offering free towing and if needed, a loaner vehicle.
