Flu Season Spiking

According to the latest CDC estimates, more than 7.1 million people in the U.S. have become sick with the flu since the season began in October.


Out patient visits are reporting 6.1% is due to suspected cases of influenza. There have been 73,000 cases considered serious enough to require hospitalization and about 4,500 people have died due to flu-related illnesses.


Covid is still a main concern and causes more severe disease to average people, but at this time, so many more people are affected by the flu right now.


The CDC is recommending everyone 6 months and older get the annual flu vaccine and to contact your health care provider right away if you feel any symptoms, as there are antiviral treatments they can prescribe, but they work best at first signs of the illness.  Also, proper and frequent hand washing is recommended.
