Tropical Storm Alberto is the first named storm of the 2024 season. Alberto formed over the Gulf of Mexico Wednesday and is heading toward southern Texas and northeastern Mexico coasts. Alberto is forecasted to bring heavy rains, gusty winds, coastal flooding and possible mudslides.
Rainfall amounts could reach between 4 and 15 inches in some areas. A flood watch remains in effect until Thursday. Maximum winds could reach up to 40 mph.
