U.S. Army Capt. Molly Murphy became the first female nurse to complete the Army’s elite Ranger course. On July 19, after about 60 days of grueling school, Murphy prevailed and graduated.
Murphy is a pediatric intensive care unit nurse at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland.
Murphy said the hardest part was the first day. She said, “I did not sleep at all the night before, I was so scared, way in over my head.”
There are now a total of 143 women who have graduated the U.S. Army Ranger course.
