Federal Employees who didn’t take the “buyout” or whose agency shut down need to return to the office of face termination.
Elon Musk posted on X: Those who ignored President Trump’s executive order to return to work have now received over a month’s warning. Starting this week, those who still fail to return to office will be placed on administrative leave.”
Over the weekend, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) sent emails to federal employees with the subject line reading: “What did you do last week?” “Please reply to this email with approx. 5 bullets of what you accomplished last week and cc your manager. Please do not send any classified information, links or attachments,” it continued.
According to the email, the deadline to respond is Monday, February 24 at 11:59 p.m. ET, but, it didn’t specify if failure to answer would be taken as their resignation.
Musk also posted on X: “The reason this matters is that a significant number of people who are supposed to be working for the government are doing so little work that they are not checking their email at all! In some cases, we believe non-existent people or the identities of dead people are being used to collect paychecks. In other words, there is outright fraud.”
