ESPN has parted ways with Robert Griffin III, retired quarterback and football analyst on multiple shows and Samantha Ponder, host/anchor of “Sunday NFL Countdown.”
RGIII joined ESPN in 2021 and had two years left on his contract. Ponder joined ESPN’s Longhorn Network in 2011 and was entering the last year of her three-year deal.
Retired Eagles center Jason Kelce was replacing RGIII for the upcoming football season on “Monday Night Countdown.”
RGIII posted on X that he was “Thankful for so many people in my time at ESPN that helped me grow because they are some of the best in the business.”
