Former University of North Carolina, and NBA center Eric Montross died on Sunday at his home in Chapel Hill, NC surrounded by his loved ones.
He was diagnosed with cancer in March. His family did not release the type of cancer he was battling but that fight came to an end Sunday.
" To know Eric was to be his friend, and the family knows that the ripples from the generous, thoughtful way that he lived his life will continue in the lives of the many people he touched with his deep and sincere kindness," the family said in an announcement Monday morning.
