Elton John joins an elite group when he snagged the Emmy last night at the historic 75th Emmy Award show last night. He is the 19th person to reach this milestone.
To achieve EGOT status, one must win an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award.
John won his first Emmy last night in the category for Best Variety Special (live), with his Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium special. The three-hour concert documentary is streaming on Disney+.
John said in a statement, “I am incredibly humbled to be joining the unbelievably talented group of EGOT winners tonight. John has previously won 5 Grammy’s, an Oscar and a Tony award.
