Edey - Naismith & AP Player of the Year

Purdue Boilermakers star Zach Edey has won back to back Naismith Trophy and Associated Press (AP) Awards for Player of the Year.  


On Friday, Edey won the Associated Press (AP) Player of the Year Award receiving 57 of 62 votes from journalists who vote in the weekly AP Top 25. He is just the fifth player in history to win the award in consecutive seasons. 


On Sunday, Edey won the Naismith Player of the Year Award for the second straight year. He is only the third player in history to win the award multiple times. Ralph Sampson won it three years in a row (1981, 82, 83) and Bill Walton won it multiple times.

24.9 PPG,  12.2 RPG,  2.2 BPG 


Through five NCAA Tournament matches this year, he is averaging 28 points and 15.4 rebounds.
