Around 4:30am this morning, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck near Mentone, Texas. It is reported that it had a depth of 4.9 miles and its epicenter was about 22 miles west-southwest of Mentone.
The quake was felt as far away as Santa Teresa, New Mexico about 200 miles west of where the earthquake was detected.
** As of 9am this morning there were no reports of damage or injuries.
