Diaz Suspended 10 Games

Major League Baseball has announced that New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz has been suspended for 10 games for violating Major League Baseball's foreign substance policy.

Diaz was ejected from Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs after umpires inspected his hands and glove prior to the ninth inning.

The Mets closer said it was a combination of rosin, sweat, and dirt on his hand.

Umpire Vic Carapazza said the substance was "way too sticky."

Diaz can appeal the suspension.
