Mark your calendars! Before going to bed Saturday night, set your clocks ahead one hour in observance of Daylight Savings Time. (Officially begins Sunday, March 9, @ 2 a.m.)
This could be the last “Spring Forward,” permanently. The Constitution does grant Congress the authority to alter the time.
President Trump previously said he was in favor of permanently ending the time change and could do it by an executive order. Trump calls it a “50/50 issue” and says it’s hard to get excited about that.
Daylight Savings Time first began in 1918, when President Woodrow Wilson signed it into law during WWI to conserve energy.
