Six-time NBA All-Star Walter Davis died Thursday morning of natural causes while visiting family in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was 69 years old.
Davis was drafted 5th overall by the Phoenix Suns. He played 11 of his 16 seasons with the Suns, 4 seasons with the Denver Nuggets and one season with the Portland Trailblazers.
The North Carolina Tar Heels star is 10th all-time in scoring in Tar Heels' history. He had 106 games with double-figure scoring which is fourth all-time at North Carolina .
Walter Davis who was from Pineville, North Carolina is in the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame and was named to the ACC's 50th anniversary team in 2002.
