Dartmouth Men's Basketball Votes to Unionize

In an unprecedented step toward forming the first labor union for college athletes, the Dartmouth men's basketball team voted to unionize.

The players held the vote in the school's Human Resources offices, overseen by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).  All 15 players on the team took part and voted 13-2 to join the Service Employees International Union Local 560.

The school can file an objection to the NLRB. If not satisfied with that decision they could take it to federal court.
